Bangor 3rds McCambley Cup match against Antrim was always going to be a tough one. The combination of home strength – Antrim are already at the top of their league – and listless visitors, led to a rather one-sided affair with Antrim running away with a 22-0 lead at half-time, before more than doubling this to finish 57-0 at full time.
It should be said that although the weakened Bangor side hadn’t managed the journey well, they improved as the game went on, and showed great heart in the face of Antrim’s onslaught. This will be a tough lesson for the young Gryphons but, as has been shown in the past, they will hopefully bounce back next week as they host Ophir in their league competition.
