First match of the season and a lot of nerves but with a couple of minutes gone in the game all the hard work by players and coaches paid off as Tyler Mahaffy broke through the Dee's midfield to score under the posts, Frankie Shivers slotted the kick. A few minutes later it happened again, and once more with the same results.
Bangor now ahead 21-0 and Tyler had a hat trick. The frantic play was gone and Bangor started to play some lovely flowing rugby with more try’s coming from the abrasive Hames Hughes and Cal Conroy (capain) and a couple more from Tyler Mahaffy.
Dee scored before half time to make it 43-5.
Second half with Bangor now playing up the hill the Dee came back fighting scoring 2 try’s. This woke the Bangor boys up and with some strong carries from Josh Newell, Corey Alexander and Jack Pitts the try’s started to come again. Kailen Cantley scoring 2 and Cal scoring a superb individual try near the end. The match finished 71-15 for Bangor, withJack Pitts being awarded man of the match having worked tirelessly throughout the game.
A great start to the season!
Thanks to coaches Mark Tinman and Davy Henderson for their support and effort.
