Bangor P7 Minis Glasgow tour a massive success

Roger Corbett1 May - 18:41

The P7s went on an unforgettable tour to Glasgow, where they showcased their talent, teamwork, and tenacity in a series of thrilling matches.

Both teams played their hearts out against local Scottish opposition on Friday night at the URC clash between Glasgow and the Bulls, displaying excellent sportsmanship, skill, and determination. Although fierce in competition, the boys represented each other and the club with pride and unity throughout.

One of the standout highlights came when one of our teams had the rare and exciting opportunity to play on the pitch at halftime — cheered on by a roaring crowd. The other team played the vital role of proudly forming the Guard of Honour to welcome the professional teams onto the field, being close enough to give the teams high 5s as they entered. Also adding to the electric atmosphere of the evening, the kids, managed to get their excited faces on the TV.

Saturday brought a well-earned break from the rugby pitch with an action-packed rest day at XSite Braehead. The boys enjoyed bowling, laser tag, and even flew down the UK’s largest indoor slide — an experience that brought laughter, thrills, and memories to last a lifetime.

On Sunday, both teams travelled to Livingston for a festival of rugby, facing off against teams from Falkirk, Penicuik, Corstorphine, and Livingston. The competition was tough, but Bangor rose to the challenge — finishing in both first and second place. It was a fantastic event hosted by Livingston RFC, and to top it off, we were even treated to sunshine, making it the perfect day for rugby.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the parents, coaches, Bangor Rugby Club, Bangor Minis Rugby, the Bangor community and our main sponsors — Underground Dining, Lightfoot Kitchen and Deli, Danielle Strain Hairdressing, and Ultrasound NI — for giving the kids the opportunity for this experience of a lifetime.

This tour was more than just about results — it was about experiences, camaraderie, and the values at the heart of sport. A huge thank you to our hosts in Glasgow and Livingston, the URC organisers, and all who supported the trip.
