Colin Cromie

Roger Corbett5 Feb - 19:10

It is with sadness to note the passing of Colin ‘Coco’ Cromie who had been a member of Bangor RFC for more than 25 years.

Colin joined the Club after leaving Bangor Grammer School, playing for the U16’s and U18’s under the guidance of the late Hugh McCutcheon, which culminated in Colin being involved in the U18’s tour of the USA in 1994. Colin then moved up to senior rugby, and was a stalwart member of the 3rd XV during his playing years with the Club.

Colin was a real character, both on and off the field. He was the sort of teammate whose stories, laughter, and sheer presence could turn an average night into a memorable one.

Though he hadn’t been around the club in a while, the mark he left never faded. For those who knew him, played alongside him, or even just shared a pint or bus journey with him, his passing hits hard. He may not have been there recently, but his spirit, his humour, and the memories he created still echo through the place.

He will be missed — not just for the player he was, but for the character, the friend, and the Bangor man he’ll always remain.

The Club wish to extend their condolences to all of Colin's family and friends at this sad time.
