Prior to the Christmas holiday, I wanted to inform members about about some recent developments with the senior coaching setup. Tom Rock has resigned as Director of Rugby due to personal reasons. Tom has been instrumental to the Club’s success, on and off the pitch, in recent seasons - particularly during the challenges presented by the Covid pandemic. I would like to thank Tom for his dedication to Bangor RFC and wish him all the best for the future.

In Tom’s stead, I am delighted to announce that Dave Irwin will be taking up the position of Head Coach for the rest of the season. Dave will be known to many through previous coaching stints at the Club and will bring significant rugby experience and knowledge from his time as a coach and professional player.

In addition, two former Club Captains will be taking up key support roles for the remainder of the season: Jamie Clegg as Director of Rugby; and Ricky Armstrong as Chairman of Selectors.

As we look towards the second half of the season, I am confident that this new setup will build on the success of recent years.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all at Upritchard Park in the New Year with home AIL games against Skerries on 14 January and Omagh on 28 January.
