Phil's marathon effort raises thousands

Roger Corbett19 Dec - 10:57

Phil Whyte, took on the Tollymore Trail Marathon in memory of his daughter Sophie.

Phil's rugby playing days may be over, but he recently took on another physically challenging activity by completing the demanding Tollymore Trail Marathon, and raising £3,000 in aid of the Ulster Hospital's Forget Me Not focus group. The group, based within Maternity Services at the South Eastern Trust, supports bereaved parents who have experienced the loss of a baby or child, offering compassionate care throughout their grief journey.

Phil said "The staff really looked after us when we losy Sophie at 37 weeks. We want to thank everyone who donated. I wish I could do more and we hope that the funds raised will help both the maternity unit and Forget Me Not Group."

Phil is truly one of the good guys and Bangor RFC couldn’t be more proud. Thank you to everyone who donated and well done Phil!
