On bank holiday Sunday 5th May, Bangor U14s attended the Malone invitational 15 a side tournament.

This tournament played host to guest teams from pan Europe, with a real crop of talent. Bangor were thrown in the mix, with initial group matches against two very strong, physical and well drilled sides, in the shape of Malone and Morpeth.

Following on from the group matches, Bangor faced Ramsey RFC, from the Isle of Man. This match was to determine who were the winners of the U14 plate.

From the offset, Bangor were clearly the more dominant and stronger side. The young men dug deep, and played exceptionally well. The final result was a 26 - 0 win to Bangor.

All supporters and followers could agree, that this was just deserved and a fitting finish to the season for the boys, who were crowned winners of the plate.

And so the season has now finished, and to echo what has been said before, what a superb inaugural season for the young men. They should all be very proud of what they have achieved.

Thank you to all parents, family, friends and others, who have avidly cheered and willed the boys on throughout the whole season. Everyone has now earned a well deserved break from rugby, until next season, where we will be fielding an Under 14 & 16 team, building on the success of this season.
