Great fun for the Minis taking part in the Ulster Rugby Summer Camp at Upritchard Park

The Ulster Rugby Summer Camp at Bangor RFC sponsored by Subway provided a fun filled 5 day programme of rugby training and games for boys and girls of all abilities aged 6-11 years old (P3-P7). Over 80 children from all over the province took part at a perfectly presented Upritchard Park. Even the weather managed to hold up!

The focus of the camps is about enjoying rugby in a fun and safe environment. These camps, which run throughout the summer at various regional locations, are player-centred with delivery by IRFU qualified coaches directed to the needs of the participants, with the added bonus of Professional Player visits to interact with players and give advice. All the children were thrilled to have Sean Reidy and Dave Shanahan with them on Thursday. With plenty of autographs and photos taken, it will be a day to remember for all of them.

Throughout the varied programme of training and small sided games, the children experienced the skills required to participate in the game of rugby. Most importantly though, they all had fun and got through the week without any major incidents.

Thanks to all the Bangor Rugby Club and Ulster Rugby staff who made the event such a success.
