It’s been a well earned break for players and coaches alike, and I am sure we are all now chomping at the bit to get back to rugby. I know I certainly am!

The club are pleased to announce that pre-season will recommence in the first week of August, and all details will be communicated out to each respective team via their coaches. We are going to push for players to bring a friend along to pre-season training. All players welcome.

Speaking of communication to parents / guardians and players, this season we will cease using WhatsApp. It has been very useful, although I am sure you will all agree, it can at times be a burden, and difficult to use, particularly when keeping track of a number of things going on within your child’s team.

The Youth Section are now going to communicate via an app called Spond. It is available to all phone users, and is a really simple system. It is GDPR compliant, and will significantly ease the administrative burden on coaches. It is also free to all.

To that end, we would ask that whilst we embed the new system into the Section, there may be teething problems, and would ask you please be patient. It will be new to us all, but we are assured it is user friendly, and easy to navigate. We will of course review this as the season goes on, and seek feedback from users.

This will only work on the basis that parents / guardians / players buy into it, as this will be the sole method of communication. It is therefore vital that we all subscribe to Spond and use it. That being said, communications from the club will be only those necessary, we will not be bombarding you unnecessarily, and in turn we would ask the same!

For each age group, when subscribing please do so as a GUARDIAN not a member, by clicking on the appropriate link below. You can then add your child’s details as appropriate. (Unless you are a player Over 18, then you can join the U18 group as a member directly). Below are the links for each age group. We have also provided the birth dates covering each team, as many players will be moving up to the next age group.

If there are any issues or concerns, please get in contact with the appropriate coach. It is intended that WhatsApp groups will be closing down on 1st September, so we aren’t cutting you all off completely!
