Following on from a tough run of results, Bangor’s young U14 team had been asked by their coaches to dig deep, and self reflect on their recent performances, in an attempt to help the young lads build up some resilience. With the coaches words undoubtedly ringing in their ears, the players took to the pitch against Academy, in what was hoped to be a tantalising U14 Shield semi-final fixture.
From the outset, it was clear to all that the boys had really stepped things up a gear, and identified areas they needed to work on, particularly around their work rate and application on the pitch. There was a significant improvement from the first whistle and this set the tone for the remainder of the game, where Bangor proved too strong for Academy, and came away as eventual 31- 10 winners.
The reward for the young men’s endeavours, is a spot in the final on 11th March (venue and opposition to be confirmed, but a date for everyone’s diaries!). Over the forthcoming weeks we will be building up to the final, and this will prove an exciting opportunity for our players and coaches alike!
A huge well done to the players from the coaches, in the positive performance, particularly after a number of tough results which haven’t gone their way. A huge thanks to our supporters too. We will see you all on 11th March!
